India's Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) to allow telecom firms like Jio and Airtel to install their own networks at Navi Mumbai International Airport. The February 2026 letter to CEO Arun Bansal cites the Telecommunications Act, 2023, classifying the airport as a "public entity" requiring fair Right of Way (RoW) access.
COAI complained on Dec 30, 2025, that Adani was denying permissions and pushing expensive exclusive in-building networks (₹92 lakh/month). DoT mandates non-discriminatory processing under RoW Rules, 2024 for seamless 5G rollout critical for passengers and operations.
This greenfield mega-project (₹16,000 Cr concession) nears launch. The order boosts connectivity but challenges Adani's non-aeronautical revenue model across its 6 airports. Telcos hail it as a win against monopolies.
